School transformation enables students to become our leaders:

What makes a leader different from a boss? The answer is very simple great leaders don’t set out to be a leader. They set out to make a difference. It's never about the role it's always about the goal. Like John Maxwell once said ‘‘Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.

School systems have gone through many changes through the years especially the public school systems of Puerto Rico. An example of all these transformations are students organizations which are more frequently known as students clubs. If we enter the official site of the department of education we will find that in our public schools there are at least fourteen official clubs from the department. These clubs are perfect examples of what most students are interested in. Since students are part of these clubs willingly. This gives feed back to the schools, because they will see in what areas they have to evolve or transform to get students to transform themselves into leaders.

Now that we know how to get our students attention and keep the love of learning increasing. We need to know how we can transform them into leaders. A leader is a person who takes charge and leads even the weakest member. The schools during this transformation must become leaders to create leaders. And I quote Ken Blanchard who said ‘‘ The key to a successful leader today is influence, not authority’’.

For most students schools are a place where they lose their authority, when the reality is that schools can be very influential place. How a teacher acts and treats his students could influence them to study more, and this has been proven. You may say what teacher do to create leaders?

Let me say they can do a lot. A teacher can be really influential  a student. Since the school is the place where students come to learn, but we don't  learn from the school we learn from the teacher. A teacher is a great example for students to become leaders. ‘‘ Being a leader is not about you. It’s about the people that are on your team and how you can help them be successful’’. This is an actual statement for teachers since when teachers teach, they forget about themselves they worry about if the students are learning or not and tries to make the class in a way where everybody can learn and understand at the sametime to be successful.

In the public schools there are lot of students leaders and some are in process of becoming leaders. Because when us as students decide to make a stand whether it is to help a fellow student or simply to try and make a difference in our schools and community this is when we become students leader. Like Walt Disney once said ‘‘ Leadership means that a group, large or small, is willing to entrust authority to a person who has shown judgement, wisdom, personal appeal and proven competence’’. This is completely true of our current students leaders, they have a vision to make things better, innovation, motivation and inspiration to make the difference in our schools in which all leaders are created.

Summary of Society Killed Beauty within the Teenager

Makeup advertisements make teenage girls believe that with covering their flaws in makeup they will be beautiful. And this has gotten to the point that girls as young as seven years are using make-up regularly in an attempt to match up to the female perfection shown on television, in teen magazines and by their favorite artist.
The concept of photoshop is taken into account, it is important to note that at least 28% of advertisements are retouched with a disclaimer, and an estimated 44% are retouched without a disclaimer. David Spellman, a clinical psychologist said young teenagers  have developed distorted ideas around appearance through the bombardment of digitalized images in the media. 45% of teenage girls that the photos they see in magazines motivate them to loose weight.
Beauty Pageants have increased the believe that you need to wear large amounts of makeup, have to wear designer clothes, have to have an exact weight, that sometimes we need surgery to get perfection, that we need to have perfect teeth, we have to increased are vanity and puts an age on beauty.  But that an it the worse of all sadly.

Thanks to this <- we have this ->

In my opinion, society will always have high standards for beauty and from my perspective, the opinions of others will always be relevant when perceiving our own self. I believe if would we stop exhaustively comparing are selves to other women such as the ideals in the media, we will never be satisfied with are own appearance and this results in increased conformity. And this sadly are teenagers are paying the consequences trying to appear something their not and in the worse cases they become anorexic and bulimic.  There is no better you than the true you.
